Rutherford’s Punting Cambridge Has Been Nominated For VisitEngland’s Gold Tour Accolade!

Rutherford’s Punting Cambridge is proud to have been nominated for VisitEngland’s Gold Tour Accolade following a recent visit from the prestigious organisation. VisitEngland is the nation’s tourist board, so they have strict criteria for attractions, and were incredibly pleased with the upgrades Rutherford’s has undertaken over recent months.

Our team has worked hard to deliver shared and private punting experiences that suit all our guests including options like the Cambridge Punt and Walk experience, proposal punting, anniversary punting, hen do punting, stag do punting, birthday punting and even dog-friendly punting.

All our punting tours are fully customisable, and you can add tasty treats such as champagne, a picnic, a cream tea or a cheese platter to create the perfect punting tour.

It’s our commitment to quality and excellence that has led us to get a 98% score from VisitEngland and this nomination for a Gold Tour Award.

“Rutherfords Punting has achieved an outstanding overall score of 98% in this year’s VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Activity assessment. This represents a remarkable improvement from 77% at the previous assessment two years ago in May 2024. Such a significant increase is unusual to see within a single assessment cycle. Still, on this occasion, it is thoroughly deserved and reflects the investment and commitment the business has made in enhancing every aspect of the visitor experience. 

The improvements are evident from the moment visitors arrive. Investment in a modern fleet of boats, the introduction of smart waistcoat uniforms, consistently high standards of presentation, and thoughtful touches, such as providing blankets on cooler days and umbrellas during wet weather, all help create a polished, highly professional operation.
