Fireworks Punting Cambridge

From Bonfire Night to the May Ball, Rutherford’s Punting Cambridge gives you a front row seat to the best fireworks displays in the city with our firework punting tours.

There are fireworks displays throughout the autumn and winter months in Cambridge, including the Trinity May Ball Fireworks, St John’s May Ball Fireworks, The Midsummer Common fireworks on Bonfire Night and fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Whether you choose a shared or private punting tour, we can allow you to see fireworks from the comfort of a heated seat on a punt floating down the River Cam.

As well as the fireworks, you’ll also get to listen to amazing stories from our experience guides and see sights including the Mathematical Bridge, King’s College Chapel, the stunning St John’s College with its majestic Bridge of Sighs and New Court.

Enjoy Fireworks Punting With Rutherford’s

Make sure you book early, particularly before major events like Bonfire Night and the May Ball to ensure that you’re not disappointed.

Whether you choose a shared tour or private punting tour for your fireworks punting trip, whether you bring your own food and drinks or choose a selection from our range, we’ll aim to give you the best possible experience.

Both our boats and employees dress appropriately for the weather on the day. On warm evenings, your guide will wear a waistcoat or shirt, and perhaps braces. Our boats are decked out with cushions and blankets and any food or drinks you chose. Later in the evening or when the weather is cooler, your guide will wear a professional coat, and your boat will also carry additional blankets, umbrellas, and hot water bottles in case the weather changes.

Our boats depart from our Jesus Green moorings, with nearby public transport links and car parking options. If you’re running late, your booking will be held for you for 5 minutes. If it is any longer, or if there’s a late arrival to your party, we may have to leave without them or reschedule. Our friendly team will be happy to help, so make sure you get in touch as soon as you know you’re running late.
