The Ultimate Cambridge Punting Picnic Tours
The sun is shining brightly, and the river is bustling with visitors and locals larking around on punts. As you have a delicious afternoon tea on our punting trip, the stunning vistas of the University of Cambridge's riverside Colleges surround you.
On your private punt, your chauffeur will take you through the city's interesting history, the famous Colleges, distinctive bridges, and beautiful gardens.
With a private tour, your boat and a delectable picnic will be waiting for you and your friends when you arrive at the time you choose. Your guide will push you along the river in a classic punt, which will be outfitted with cushions for your comfort.
Fitzbillies, a well-known Cambridge institution, is partnering with us to offer the picnic. This handmade bakery, founded in 1921, is famous for its sticky Chelsea buns and is one of the city's oldest bakeries. The premiere is given to each individual on the trip. A picnic package of goodies that includes:
Sparkling elderflower pressé
Finger sandwiches Smoked salmon on brown bread, cream cheese and cucumber on white bread.
Fruit scone Served with jam and clotted cream.
Mini bakery cakes Fruit tart, chocolate brownie and macaron.
If you’re looking for a lighter bite, then take a step away from the everyday mayhem and try out our luxurious cream tea punting experience.
Punting with Picnic Information
Our 45-minute picnic tours are bookable up to 24 hours in advance.
Please check in with our team at our Jesus Green Moorings just 2 minutes along the boardwalk from the Quayside. For last-minute bookings please contact us on 01223 322200 and we’ll do our best to organise a boat for you.
Both our boats and our employees will be dressed for the weather on the day. If it’s sunny, your guide will be wearing a waistcoat. Alternatively, at colder times of the year, your guide will wear a professional coat and your boat will be equipped with umbrellas.
What to do if you’re running late? Your private booking will be held for you for 5 minutes, after this point it wouldn’t be possible to go on the tour as this would mean missing our later bookings, affecting other customers. Please call us the moment you know of any delays to your schedule and we’ll try to organise things to accommodate you.
